Finally a good weekend here with Bankroll Bob, profit of $852.86 from a wagering total of $250.00. I will look to improve on that success this week on Saturday night.
On another note, Balooga Bull ran a very impressive race but probably is a bet against for me in the Gold Cup due to the fact he was allowed to walk the first quarter in 25. He will get pressure I think, and the nominations include Manitoba Lotteries Derby winner Assembly Hall. Friday night is not my favorite betting card of the year, but I think Wisen’shine and Haze N Harlee could be good value along in the third race.
Bankroll Bob now continues with the Saturday night card.
In the first race Got Zip figures to be heavily over bet in a race that is wide open. The race has a lack of early pace and Got Zip is a closer making a false drop. Yes he might win but I’d like to give myself a chance to make some money early on the card. Our Boy Ken was visually impressive in his last out in a weak spot. Slew’s Dark Knight was a rallying second last time but in my mind is not a huge win threat. Cape Truth is the interesting horse in here, as he drops in class and comes out of what is starting to look like a key race.
$10 Win #5 = $10
$1 Pick 3 5/1,2,3,4,5,6/3,4,6 = $18
$1 Pick 3 2,4,5,6/1,3,4/3,4 = $24
I think Have it My Way is another horse who will be over bet and I do not like him that much. Lots of early speed but he is in bad form right now. I would look at Stormin Along, who faded last time going long, along with Two Barrel Tootie, who makes a class drop from open mares to here, and Play Hard to Win off the claim. Rob Atras is 3-for-3 off the claim and this horse could make a huge turnaround.
$1 Triactor Wheel 1,3,4/1,3,4/All = $24
The 84th running of the $50,000 Winnipeg Futurity pits emerging rivals Maddie’s Gold and Megatron Ruler against impressive undefeated candidates For Old Times Sake and Zdeno along with Canterbury Park invader Finishline Fever. I personally think Zdeno could be any kind of horse as he has yet to be challenged at all, but Maddie’s Gold and Megatron Ruler are hard to knock. I will pass this race.
Kicking off the Pick-4 is a NW2X allowance race that should be dominated by Vader. From visual observations Vader was ultra-impressive two starts ago and was horrible last time out. Maybe the return to a sprint will help, but his races are so all over the map. If he is not cranked up he can be beat, and that would make this sequence very valuable.
$1 Pick 4 2/1,4,5,6,7/5,8/2,3,4, = $30
$1 Pick 4 1,2,4,6/1,4,5,6,7/8/2,3 = $40
Checkered Cab should be absolutely loose in Race 5. The race is not the most talented Maiden Special Weight field. The two fillies Quinnz Away and Gimmesumsugar are hard to play, but Gimmesumsugar on the cutback could be interesting. It has to be a spread race in my mind and the firster Nordic Firestorm could also be interesting. This is a good race to start a pair of Pick-3 wagers.
1,4,5,6,7/8/2,3,4,7 = $20
1,4,5,6,7/3,5,6,8/2,4 = $40
The sixth race could be a good betting race. I will use Reba in the top three spots in superfectas which was one of my big scores last Saturday night.
$0.20 Super 8/3,5,7/1,3,4,5,7/ALL = $12
$0.20 Super 3,5/8/1,3,5,7/ALL = $6
$0.20 Super 3,5/1,3,5,7/8/ALL = $6
The final leg of the Pick-4 is not an individual race that suits my liking. I think anyone could win, I prefer Dream Now, Swiss G’s and Senior Citizen but I am honestly not too sure, so I will move on to the last .
The eighth race sets up for On Command, who should be much the best at a short price. I will use B Twenty Four, Sudden Bolt and Dixieland Gold for second.
$4 Exactor 8/1,4,5 = $12
$0.20 Super 8/1,4,5/1,4,5,6,7/1,2,4,5,6,7 = $9.60
This reaches my $250 budget for the night and again I feel if I can hook a couple of price horses up together in a Pick-3 or Pick-4 I will make money.
