Speculating, a royally-bred Manitoba stallion
Manitoba Stallion Profile: Speculating
(Medaglia d’Oro-Well Dressed by Notebook)
A royally-bred son of leading sire Medaglia d’Oro, Speculating offers Manitoba breeders access to one of North America’s most prolific and commercially desirable bloodlines.
From a family filled with Grade 1 talent, Speculating is a half-brother to multiple top-level performers including Well Armed ($5.1 million), winner of the Dubai World Cup (G1), Goodwood Stakes (G1), and San Antonio Handicap (G2), and graded stakes producer Witty, winner of the Railbird Stakes (G3). His siblings have produced such standouts as Cyberknife ($2,137,520), winner of the Arkansas Derby (G1) and Haskell Stakes (G1), and Played Hard ($1,480,140), winner of the La Troienne Stakes (G1).
By renowned sire Medaglia d’Oro, whose progeny have earned over $209 million including champions Rachel Alexandra, Songbird, and Golden Sixty, among 184 stakes winners, Speculating has a pedigree designed for high-class success.
His dam Well Dressed was a stakes winner herself, capturing the American Holly Stakes and producing eight winners from nine starters. The depth of Speculating’s family continues through his second dam Trithenia, a full sister to Martha Washington Stakes (G3) winner Tee Kay.
Still in the early stages of his stud career with 33 foals in his first three crops, Speculating is currently represented by his promising daughter Twolefttoload, who has shown ability in her initial starts. With 14 yearlings and 10 current 2-year-olds, his best offspring from some of the top mares in Manitoba are just beginning to reach the racetrack.
